Who is LeAnn Moyers?

There is no mention of Home Economist on my college degree. Nor will you find a Bachelor of Science in coupons. Yet, every day I find that I’m becoming a professional at making my home run like a well oiled machine. Somedays, that’s really tough. In my household you’ll find my 16 year old daughter, my 11 year old son, and my 8 year old daughter. Let’s not forget 3 cats, 1 dog, and a husband. These folks are automatic money wasters and my source of motivation. I love ‘em, but they are still money wasters.

It all started when I decided to stop working full time, and become a mini van driver. Katy was just born, and the older two were starting to join school groups that required more and more attention. Giving up my headache daily job sounded great, but giving up the paycheck was really tough. I was used to buying whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it. All of a sudden, I didn’t have an open checkbook to play with. Then I got pretty serious about what my function was in our home besides mini van driver.

The way I see myself, I’m in charge of all the outflow of the house. My husband handles the Inflow of cash, but I can help control how much we keep each month. The more I keep in the house the better off we all are in the long run. The first thing I did, was grab all my credit card statements, debit card and bank statements and my check book. I wanted to really see who I was spending money with and how much. Guess what? My Grocery bill per month was half my mortgage payment. Whoa. Something had to be done about this, and fast.

Now I can say that I have tons of experience learning how to trim my grocery bill. It’s all self taught trial and error. I’ve made many mistakes learning how to save my family money. I admit, I’ve gotten too excited about a sale and bought more spaghetti than my family would eat in a year, and I’ve also lost coupons in my purse, bought stuff I didn’t want to eat, and even made to few purchases. I learned that there are two things you can do at the grocery store, you can save money, and you can get more. The worst mistake I’ve ever made was not being reasonable about setting goals to save money.

Today, I feel in control of our homes outflow. We eat like kings, want for nothing, and have found ways to save money too. I’m a full time blogger for County Market food stores. I shop there at least twice per week, not because I have to, because I enjoy shopping there. I like the feeling of saving money, and taking care of my family. I blog about hot coupons that I find on the web, I blog about sales at County Market, and I even blog about just cool free stuff and savings I find for my family. I have an overactive imagination, and a true love of family. If you are looking to help your family save money, and give yourself another title other than mini van driver, you’ll subscribe to my blog. I’ll keep you motivated about saving money at County Market, and help you keep it real!

Keep Saving,

LeAnn
