Printed internet coupons account for 15% of all coupons redeemed. Newspaper accounts for the largest share of 60%. Yet the printed coupons get the most scrutiny when you check out.
There are four standard coupon printers on the internet. These
are coupons.com, which print “Bricks” coupons, Smartsource.com coupons
which use Java Script, Redplum.com, and Couponnetwork.com All of these sites allow you to print each coupon 2x. The limit is per computer. Sometimes a customer may trade with others to acquire more coupons ,
or companies like Kelloggs who work with coupons.com to use their
bricks software offer multiples of the same coupon to allow the customer
multiple coupons to redeem. A vast majority, only allow the 2 prints per computer.
We gladly accept printed coupons at our registers so long as they meet basic criteria. The coupons need to be printed with the standard watermark. The watermark is printed lightly behind the price of the redemption. Sometimes it’s a picture of the item, others it’s a company logo.
The watermark is the one thing all cashiers look for when accepting these coupons. They are ensuring that the coupons have not been photocopied. Photocopied coupons are illegal, and the store is not reimbursed for those coupons.
Most coupon fraud involves a person altering a coupon to change the amount offered. Usually the use of a color copier and scanner are in play. The easiest way to detect the photo copy, is to look for the watermark. Swapping upc codes will also not scan properly when you check out. That becomes the first red flag for the cashier. The watermark missing is the second.

many as you want of these, and use as many as you intend to purchase. I often print extras for our coupon group to share. These coupons scan easily.
