Finding Time to Coupon

How much time does it take to save money?  Each person is  uniquely different.  Yet it should not bee taking most of our week to save money.
split up to fit into your busy schedule.

1. Gather Coupons.  A subscription will deliver the coupons in the Sunday paper to your door.  No time necessary!  Yet that may not be the best if you need multiple papers, or if you know there’s a  HOT coupon coming out and you want to snag a few more.  Options are to use a clipping service, one that will mail you the inserts on a regular basis.  You can get inserts at www.clairwood.com or at www.wholecouponinserts.com or www.couponthingsbydede.com  These sites all deal with whole complete inserts that do not require gas!  Or, you can talk to your Customer Service folks.  Depending on the size of your store, they may be able to put back Sunday papers with you when you keep a debit card with them.  My store will do this for me, but we have a fairly small store.
2. Clip Them.  Coupons do not seem to clip themselves.  When clipping multiple papers, first sort by page.  Put a staple on each coupon set then cut out a set of like coupons.  This will keep you from sorting the same coupon many times, and will make clipping faster.  Not to mention allow you to clip in straight lines.  Do not staple in the barcode area.  Clip while you’re doing something else.  Like waiting to pick up kids at school, or during a favorite TV program.  My clip time is on Monday evenings while watching “How I Met Your Mother.”  Incidentally, this is also my Rebate time.  I can manage to file any rebates during this same show.
3. Organize and Match to the sale ad.  I do this at coupon club.  I pull my c lipped coupon pile out of my organizer and either place it in my “To be redeemed” pile or in it’s proper category.  You can also do this when you look at the blog for the first time.  See the sale, pull the coupon and place in the “Redeem” section.  I find it convenient to have an idea of what I want to ask members for at Coupon Club ahead of time.  They seem to have time to find coupons they are not using if I ask early in the meeting.
4. Shopping.  Let’s face it, it’s fun to do the shopping.  My shopping takes twice as long if one of the kids is with me.  It also takes longer if I decide to shop on Saturday morning.  That’s why I will rarely shop during peak hours.  I will shop Sunday Evenings, or weekday mornings.  I have the store to myself! I also always checkout with the same cashier.  This way they get to know you, and the process seems to go faster.
