The 2015 Coupon Challenges

It's only been a few months, but 2015 is showing us some challenges with coupon shopping.  This year, coupons are being printed for lesser face value than the past.  A coupon came out just a couple weeks ago for  $.20 off 1 item.  Really?  Twenty cents?  This change of offerings provides some very unique challenges for coupon shoppers.

First, we all need to relax and regroup!  Yes, the amounts are low but that just means we need to go back to the basics.  Always match a coupon up with a sale price.  Maybe this year, we wait more.  Maybe we do not buy as quickly as we have in the past.  The good news is that County Market has stepped up and is putting more items on sale.  We are seeing more items in the Web specials section of the blog each week.  This gives us more sale items and discounts to match up our coupons.

Second, look for more places to get free coupons.  Use the trade boards for coupons you need that you can trade for free. If your family likes purchasing a particular brand of salsa, trade for 10x coupons of that brand with someone who wants something in your toss out pile.  When making trades, always tell the other person what coupons are one your wish list.  They may have some others you want for free.

Third, start working the store coupons bin.  Our customer service counter keeps all of the unwanted catalina coupons.  I picked up 4 for $1.25 each last week for frozen pizza.  My son was happy!  That was an easy $5 in total off my week and the pizza was already on sale.  We also have tearpad coupons at our service desk.  These are free coupons, be sure to utilize them.

Fourth, stay the course.  It's frustrating when you do not see the coupon face values you are used to seeing.  However, the savings will still come so long as you stick with your program.  Keep one night per week where you clip your coupons, make your shopping list on the same day each week, and try to shop on the same day each week.  It will keep you on track and you'll see the savings stack up.

All internet coupon print limits are subjective. At the time of this email coupons were available for print. If the daily or weekly print limit has been reached, the coupon will be automatically pulled from the websites. You can try to print again tomorrow. All coupons listed are not available in our stores. We list them so you can order or find them to save you money. Check with clipping services, trade boards, or ebay to find coupons not in your store. It is our intent to help you find as many savings opportunities as possible. Enjoy!
