Clipping Services

Looking for more coupons? I get more emails from people trying to find more services than any other topic. Clipping services are an easy reliable way to go. In class I talk about some services I use and recommend. There are others! All services charge you a handling fee for their service. You are not actually paying for coupons, but the fee for clipping and sorting. Not all services are equal, you need to start slow with any new service.

Here are some things to consider when deciding to try a service:
  1. Total Savings. You will want to know how much you’re actually saving with the coupons. On a coupon that is good for $1/2, you are only saving $.50 per item. Make sure you will be saving at least 10x your money. It's easy to get caught up in the shopping and forget how much you are actually saving.
  2. Time. Will these coupons arrive in time to meet your sale? If you see an item on sale on Wednesday, and your sale week ends on Tuesday, you’ll need it delivered by Monday to be safe. Check where the coupons are shipping from. Most 2 day ship states will be okay. CA, WA, ME, GA are often 3 day ships or more.
  3. Reliable. Will this service send the order complete? Will they package the coupons so that they are not a mess when they arrive? If you are not sure, ask! Torn coupons will not be worth your money.
  4. Splits. Can you split an order with a friend? If so, you can cut your shipping fees, thus saving yourself more money. Don’t forget to subtract the cost of shipping the coupons from the amount you intend to save.
  5. Future planning. If you know you want to save on Ragu spaghetti sauce sometime in the next few months, and the coupons are good for many weeks, this is a good coupon to pick up. You’ll have time to have them shipped, and you’ll be ready to save when you see the store put the item on sale.
  6. Stacked coupons. If you buy a coupon that says, “Get $1 off produce when you buy 2 Lays chips.” Search that service for coupons that will work with that offer. Like, “Save $1 on potatoes, or $1 on bagged salad mix” -search for Produce. Try coupons that stack like, “Save $1 on Salty Snacks when you buy Coca Cola” You’ll be able to expand your savings when buying multiple items that work together.
I've listed some reliable, good services below for your convenience. Each one is unique, and you'll need to try them to see which becomes your favorite!
